Eco Home conference at the Biblioteca

The Biblioteca hosted the 2nd anual Eco home conference Dec 23, 2009. There were over 200 person who participated in the conference, many saying that after so many years together that the Biblioteca was a home away from home. A sample of building made of Adobe was erected on site.
Biblioteca organizes kids reading circle

The Biblioteca recently organized a kids reading circle, hosted by volunteers and formally named the Big Read. Participants read a selected book and then commented and discussed features of the book they liked and how it make them feel. Kids that did not read or participate in the circle were asked to stand in the corner.
Lambchops Restaurant opens in SMA

The new restaurant Lambshops opened in town recently to rave reviews. The new owner, Bob Shepard, was pleased with the turn out and said no one acted sheeplishly. Our critic, Sealy Mattress, gave it 2 thumbs and said ewe will not be disappointed in the food or the service,
Sports Fields needed for youth

Organizers of local sports clubs are asking city council for more money to fund sports facilites within San Miguel. Although kids will play any where there is a clear area, many get injured playing in on the rough terrrain. Spokesman Bob Swana says, “Putting soccer players on grass makes them outstanding in their field”
Library hosts Xmas Play

The recent play, the sheep herder and the 7 sheep was a hit. The Christmas themed play was total done in mime and was proved to be a popular event amongst the hearing and site impaired. The actors were over whelmed and humbled. with 2 standing performance until they realized it was people leaving in the middle of the performance/
Walking on the Streets of San Miguel

Most visitors to San Miguel would not consider walking on the streets of the city could be hazardous to their health. Although a very safe city, hazards we are referrring to it the affect walking can have on your ankles and back when you stumble on the cobblestone. Noted chiropractor Dr. Joe Cracker says that visitors account for 80% of his business.

It was inevitable, the flu season has returned. Local health professionals estimate that 20 people have visited local hospitals for treatment. Local residents are encourage to follow protocol to prevent the spread of the flu. Flu shots are available.
